Alexandre Gustave Eiffel was born on this date in 1832. He was the French engineer who designed the Eiffel Tower in France.The Eiffel Tower is 984 feet high and weighs more than 7,000 tons. Many people travel to Paris every year to see it. Eiffel also helped design the Statue of Liberty, a gift from France to the US.
